As the Clifton and Fruitvale areas prepare to revamp the entrances into their communities, local students from area schools helped to design the projects. Community members have voted for their favorite artwork, which will be incorporated into the new entryway designs.
Mesa County, School District 51 and Alpine Bank organized a contest in February, asking students to submit original artwork inspired by their community, its natural surroundings, and local history.
The winners were honored at an awards ceremony on April 29th at the Alpine Bank Clifton Branch. First place winners were awarded $500 saving bonds, second place received $200 and third place received $100. These were donated by Alpine Bank. Additionally there were three People’s Choice- sponsored by City Market. Each of those winners were awarded $500 saving bonds.
