State of the County
This week we gave our third annual State of the County report. Overall Mesa County is doing well. Unemployment is below the state and national average, wages have increased, and on any given day there are over 2,000 job openings posted at the Mesa County Workforce Center. Property values have doubled in the last five years with a county wide value of $778 million in 2002 to $1.6 billion in 2007. You can watch the video of the full report or view the powerpoint.
Elections
The 2008 elections are still a concern as we wait to hear if Mesa County’s electronic voting machines will be certified by the Secretary of State. At this time it is expected that on Monday February 24, the Secretary of State will announcement his ruling based on the retesting recently conducted.
